It’s no secret that I am NOT a morning person, especially on the weekends. I have zero interest in being the “bird”, nor do I give two shits about getting the “worm” … unless that worm is a good cup of coffee. But seeing as how I stumbled out of bed this morning relatively early, I figured I’d make the best of it. I noticed I had a message from Vaughn Whiskey indicating that the Team DeathMatch event that we were signed up to compete in was starting at 8:00 AM vs the afternoon time slot that we thought it was. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this was not going to happen. Realizing there was only a little over a half hour left in the competition (and armed with a fresh pot of Juan Valdez’s finest) I fired up my Xbox to see what I could do.
Now I must say that I’m not really a “stat” whore. The only stat that I ever payed attention to was our team’s W/L ratio. Considering most of us are over 3.0, including a win streak that exceeded 190+, I’d be inclined to say that’s better than our individual K/D’s. Nonetheless, I knew if I was going to jump into the TDM competition for the last half hour, I was going to suffer for it. We all know that when you play by yourself, you almost always end up on a team where the only thing your teammates are doing … is DYING! Communication doesn’t exist and more often than not, half of your team is spinning in a circle trying to shoot the cloud in the sky that looks like Barney.
That being said, I took one for the team and jumped into a few games with what seemed to consist of a barrage of useless teammates. I knew there wasn’t much I could do in such a short period of time but figured if I could muster up ANY clan XP, it would be worth it. The results … A Bronze medal and an additional 250 clan XP (dismissing of course, the temptation to throw my controller through my TV).
After a rage quit or two, I managed to post a measly 46 kills. I’m assuming that under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t have counted for anything. But I guess in the end, you never know until you try. Had we all been playing, perhaps the standings would have been a bit more rewarding. On the bright side, we did manage to do very well in yesterday’s 2nd Domination event. A near full team and awesome communication / teamwork yielded us Gold in the end!
Sufficed to say, I’m not here to provide a moral to the story. I’m just glad Those Analog Kids are forging ahead. We’re not the kind of team to jump into the competitive arena but having done so in this first series of events, it has proven that we work well together. More importantly, we have fun doing it. High Five’s to all of the members for a great performance! And as Kasey Kasem always said … “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars”. Just don’t spin in a circle and try to shoot them!!
Us TaK members tend to stay and run as a pack, but occasionally we have a stray wolf every now and then as our fellow member ScabbedFlap will demonstrate. Free-for-all is not a game type for all. In fact, I hate it. Mainly because I suck at it and I always end up in a lobby with people hiding in corners or boosting; nevertheless, it is a viable option to sharpen one’s skill at Modern Warfare 3.
As written before, Those Analog Kids are all about teamwork. This teamwork was put to the test as we participated in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Sticky Fingers competition. The mission – get as many captures as you can within a four hour period.
We got a spare Mass Effect 3 Early Access Demo Code that we are going to give it up to a lucky reader! That’s right, we was able to obtain a spare Mass Effect 3 Early Access Demo Code and we are going to give it away! So how are you going to enter to win the code? Let’s find out!
Over on the Gotham City Impostors Site, they released some pretty amazing stats from their beta. It seems people have put some time into the beta and with the release of the game on Steam, PS3 also coming to Xbox 360 later today. You will know that there will be more capped crusaders and jokers to rid in Gotham’s streets with your improved weapons!
But come on now, We have played 3.25 years and unlocked over 1 million unlockables…that’s frigging insane. So to help out the win for the beta, the wicked devs over at Monolith Productions was kind of enough to share some more info about the game while thanking each and every one Gothamer who helped out in it!
More so, THANK YOU GUYS for making such a fun game and we are planing on playing the hell out of it tomorrow!
Gotham City Imposters is out on Steam and PS3 currently with the release of Xbox 360 coming ASAP!
Hey guys, it’s BR0FESS0R 0AK here. Just thought I would take the time to thank everyone, who has supported us, helped us out, or even just gave a damn to say hi over the past few months. Us here, at Those Analog Kids are really appreciative of this, and all of you. I’ve particularly noticed two people who always give us a #FF on Twitter, TickleMeJosh and Nikibaby219, I love the fact that every Friday, I get notifications from both of these people. And to all those people who enjoy our podcasts, don’t worry, we’re still doing them, and we’re even taking the time to do them live on Twitch.tv.
VaughnWhiskey and myself, have recently started playing Gotham City Imposters, well the Beta, with our other member xPlacebo. It’s a FANTASTIC game with quirky game play, and annoying but fun Motivators on rollerskates, as portrayed by TheGamerME. This will surely be a great time consumer, but I’m sure we’ll still play Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, occasional Medal Of Honor and other random games, so if any of you people in the community want to play at ANY given time (provided we’re online) shoot on of us a message.
Well, I feel like I’ve wasted enough time writing this, what with my horrible writing skills and all. So, just once again, thank you to EVERYONE who has helped us, promoted us, or even participated in one of our many giveaways in the past (there will surely be more).
